Humanist Funeral Celebrant

I have ten years experience of this most extraordinary and special work, and have had the honour of carrying out the funerals of people from all walks of life, and of all ages.   I spend as much time as it takes with the family and friends in order to get as much detail about your loved one as possible, in order to create the best most appropriate and personal funeral.  It is said that if we get the funeral right, then bereavement can be easier to bear.   Please email me if you have any queries.

A Small Selection of Thank You Messages

From M.E., for the funeral of her Father, C.E.,  Eltham Crematorium

You were really brilliant today Belinda; so many people commented afterwards on how good your ceremony was. Heartfelt thanks from all of us for going the extra mile and really getting under the skin of the family. You did a fantastic job and are obviously a very special woman.

From L.C., for the funeral of her Mother, P.C.,  Honor Oak Crematorium

Thank you for making the day go smoothly. You turned a day I was really dreading into a day that I actually enjoyed!

From R.W. son of R.W., Putney Vale Crematorium

Thank you, on behalf of the family, for the services you have provided for the funeral of my father on Friday. Your professionalism and empathy are very much appreciated at this difficult time.

From R.N., daughter of L.B., Lambeth Crematorium

On behalf of all who were present at [the] funeral thank you very, very much for your help and in putting together the wonderful tribute to [her] life.  It was lovely. I was interested to learn about Humanism.

From U.T., wife of W.T., Mortlake Crematorium

I got the bill from T H Saunders today and was reminded of what little sum you got for your amazing work so I hope you will accept this cheque to spend on yourself and your motorbike! [£300] I was also reminded of how beautifully you did the service when a friend who could not be there asked for copies of the tributes and the service sheet, so I have been photocopying the pack you gave me. Many, many thanks once again.

From S.W., daughter of H.A., West Norwood Crematorium

Thanks so much for making my mother’s funeral such a lovely occasion. I’m sorry that you couldn’t make the very good party we had afterwards. So many people were very complementary about how well you got both the tone and content right for Helen.

From J.S., daughter of B.B., Eltham Crematorium

A very big thank you for writing such a lovely celebration of my mother’s life. We were all pleased with the way the morning went.

From K.C., daughter of R.A.,  New Southgate Crematorium

Thank you for doing such a great job at Mum’s funeral. Feedback has been wonderful. I will keep your number for future reference hoping it is not too soon if you get what I mean!

From S.B., daughter of J.H., Croydon Crematorium

Words cannot express our gratitude for the way you conducted the service. It is funny how news travels. My cousin had a Humanist Service at Croydon recently for her partner and their family said how much better you were than the gentleman who carried out their service!

J.B., son of H B, West Norwood Crematorium

Thank you so much for everything you did yesterday. You helped make a very difficult day easier and more enjoyable than I imagined possible. Everyone I spoke to said that the ceremony was perfect. Strange as it may seem, I will always have happy memories of Mum’s funeral.

S.W., L.W., and S.W., daughters of R.W.,  Croydon Crematorium

You helped make a very sad occasion exactly what we wanted – a celebration of Dad’s life and a memory of all the things he stood for and cared about when he was with us. The tone and content were perfect and everyone we spoke to afterwards thought it was a very fitting send off to someone who shall be so sorely missed.

I am also a motorcyclist and can courier ashes;

sensitively delivering to clients, or other locations.

Please email for a price quote and availability.

Motorcycle Courier of Ashes

I am a Motorcyclist and can courier ashes, sensitively delivering to clients, or other locations as requested.  For example, once I have arrived (and I shall always phone ten minutes before so you know to expect me) I can sit with a recipient as long as necessary, to make sure they are ok before I leave.  I can bring home-made biscuits too!  Equally, if you just want me to hand them over and be alone with your thoughts, that's fine too.

What are the Prices?

For a Funeral I currently charge £220. This includes as many visits as necessary and dealing with all emails and phone calls and includes all expenses of travel within the M25. For couriering of ashes it all depends how far I am to travel.  Just email and let's discuss it.   Be aware that Royal Mail won't handle Ashes, and other couriers will just hand over the 'Parcel' and leave.  You may need some company if you are on your own. And I may need tea..... !
